hi

i am a new t2 (1 month), i must confess i am not getting to grips with it very well, anyway my urine smells odd so i used 1 of my ketone wee wee strips and it shows at +1, my bg is 15, i see my diabetic nurse on thursday .

i know my bg is a bit high but i feel fine so not worried to much about that i just dont understand what the keytone thing is

Hi with Ketones you have to be careful,keep testing if you have any high readings your machine usually tells when to test on most of them.

05-0.9mmol/l -
thats low nothing to be worried about,drink plenty.

1.8-2.8mmol/l-
I would start to get worried about this and go straight for A&E,dont wait around because its not nice I should know been in with Ketones.

3.2-5.2mmol/l
I think you would feel the well out if it if your levels where at this point.

And if your sugar levels are above 15mmol/l and you have ketones present do not do any exercise as this will increase the level of ketons in the system.
