Hi, I've booked an appointment to see my Doctor (in 2 weeks, he's very busy). I've had arthritis for a good few years and I've had painful hands and feet/ankles for most of that time. It's just a background 'ache' and you get used to it.
Was diagnosed type 2 a few weeks ago and started on metformin (2x500, once a day). These are in addition to Asprin (1x75mg once a day),Tildiem (1x200mg once a day), Ramipril (1x10mg once a day) and Simvastatin (1x40mg once a day).
For the last few nights I've been woken by severe pain in my right knee. Not aware of anything physical I've done to damage the joint and the pain goes with a couple of minutes massage and movement, only to return when I go back to sleep. It seems to be happening more and the pain is more severe.
To be honest I'm beginning to feel like a bit of a hypochondriac as I've been to the Doctors more in the last 3 months than the last 30 years. Are spurious aches and pains one of the joys of diabetes or is it possible the combination of tablets is to blame....or have I reached the age where I get to wear high waisted trousers, snort deeply before every utterance and use the phrase 'dangnabbit' at regular intervals while discussing my bowel movements???
