Well here we go again! Second knee arthroscopy this year, right knee this time. Thing is, after the last one at the end of February, as some of you may remember, I fought high levels for 3 or 4 months after regardless of dropping carbs, exercising loads etc. Then suddenly, just as quickly as the control went, it came back again, and now I am regularly getting 4s, 5s and 6s. In fact if it wasn't for the surgery I would be looking to lower the 2 glics to 1 as I am often only just above 4 by lunchtime.

Soooo, it will be interesting to see what happens this time around. At least I will be prepared for it and having done a day of readings yesterday to confirm my control is still good, if they shoot up again, it will have to be the anaesthetic that interferes with the levels I reckon.

The only thing I am hoping is that the steroid injection I had in mid February in my elbow might have been the cause of the increase before and that this time status quo will be maintained.

I will report back.................

That is unfortunate Ali, have they give you another date?

Yes they have, 20th November. Sigh. I had everything sorted especially as I care for my parents now I have to plan it all again.

Also, re your reads - don't forget the general stress of an op will mess with them

Yes thanks Mary, I battled for a few months after the February op to get things back to normal. All prepared for it this time.
