It always happens to me too and as a vet nurse with type 1 diabetic tattooed on my arm I still get gifts of chocolates from grateful owners..!!!!

That's because everyone knows that being diabetes doesn't mean you have to change your life. You just take the medication and carry on as usual. Yeah, right!
People don't think, that's all it is. I'm sure they really wanted to say a big thanks for looking after their beloved animal, just didn't make the "diabetic better off without chocolate" connection. It not unusual, my type I aunt use to complain about it every Christmas, relatives knowing she'd been type I since a little girl, still buying chocolate for her.

Give this coconut ‘porridge’ a try, not real porridge, not a grain in sight, but warm and filling. I have it every morning with strawberries and double cream, just 4g carbs per portion
