Hi, I found all the books you mention here very useful, but for a newbie I would definitely say start off with
"Dr Charles Clarke Diabetes Revolution" - as it is really easy to read but explains things very well.
(and the - Collins Gem Carb Counting is a must)

I have all the above mentioned books, but have heard Gretchen Becker's book( I forget the title, but it' ssomething like "The First Year".) is good and I use David Mendosa's website.
I have just read "Pure,White and Deadly", by John Yudkin, which is very well written if old, and not exclusively about diabetes

A brief intro to Gretchen Becker, she is a wonderful lady with a great sense of humour, multi talented and I have email contact with her.

Snap !, This one I bought before diagnosis when I thought I was type 2. Very good both for intial information and later for more in depth info on things like blood tests, diet, testing etc . It arrived on my second day in hospital and even though I found I had type 1, I read it cover to cover and found it very useful

Type 1 Diabetes in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults (Class Health) by Ragnar Hanas
This one I read from the library, soon after diagnosed,it was useful background, even though I was neither child nor young person.. If you are the parent of a child with diabetes it must essential reading.

The pumpers bible, everything you need to know about an insulin pump.

Sticking to Books: (no I'm not a Post - it Note)

I have the following.
Collins Gem Carb Counter
Collins Gem Calorie Counter (more information than Carb Counter)
The Calorie Carb and Fat Bible 2009 (just ignore the dietary advice ?)
I plan to get the Collins Gem GI Book. (That's my diet basically)

Anything else I roam the Internet.
