I'm female, 50, have a bmi of 21 and was diagnosed two years ago with Type 2. I battled to see an endocrinologist and found one who I think seems really good. Met him today for the second time, and after months of monitoring he believes I have LADA. I'm not yet testing positive for antibodies though. My cpeptide is declining and my hba1c is increasing. I've been on max dose of metformin and following a relatively low carb diet. Hba1c is currently 63mmol/l and cpeptide 309pmol/l. He wants to continue to monitor and will retest everything in 6 months. Meanwhile, he's adding in flozins to my prescription and suggested I test for ketones if I go over 14mmol/l. All a bit overwhelming, but hopefully, it's a step towards understanding things more.

Hi Martha

I was diagnosed as Type 2 when I was 32 and had a normal BMI. I battled for years to get an appropriate diagnosis and have gone from Type 2 to LADA and received a Type 1 diagnosis last week. My worst HbA1C was 117mmol/L!!

I'm glad to see you have found a good Endocrinologist. When I was doing my own research into LADA, I found this really useful document https://diabetesjournals.org/diabet...ement-of-Latent-Autoimmune-Diabetes-in-Adults

Good luck in your journey. This forum is invaluable for support and advice
