Recently purchased a glucose testing m/c, - for the first time. Want to order more lancets and see that they come in several different gauges - 28,30,32 etc. I cannot find any reference as to what the difference is. Do the lower numbers draw more blood, or is it the higher numbers ??
Any answer gratefully received.

The higher the number, the finer the needle but there is very little difference. 30G seems to be pretty standard.

The needle diameter is as follows,

A lower gauge (thicker) lancet will in theory make a bigger hole in your finger and draw more blood. But the depth adjustment on the lancing device will also affect the result.
