Lancet News report on 1 in 5 deaths due to diet

Speaking of the Daily Mail. Starting tomorrow is a series of articles by Dr. David Unwin , including recipes, on how to beat diabetes. Now that should be a good read.
I have seen a couple of recent articles in the Mail that lead me to believe they are actually climbing on board again, and started reporting real life as it is. They do seem to be less dissing the Low Carb way than in the past, and providing examples of it in action. I am warming to this paper.

Pretty much everyone I know puts their trust in the nutritional flimflam that they read in the mainstream press. Five-a-day, healthy whole grains, vegetable oils, saturated fat, calories, cholesterol etc. etc. etc.

So for me personally, the answer to your question is a definite yes :D
We must be in very different circles then, the people I work with as an example, none have ever discussed cholesterol, one is a bodybuilder so follows a nutritional plan far from eatwell, one eats pasta for lunch every day, the other floor have cake every day, except for the vegan who constantly seems to be snacking on peanut butter. Unless people have a medical issue or a moral stance on diet they tend, in my experience, to eat what they like regardless of media hype.
