Lanreotide and diabetes

Type 2 diabetic here. Well controlled on diet and medication including insulin.

I'm going to be starting lenreotide this fall. I know that it can have effects on blood sugar (non-diabetics can become diabetic after use) and for diabetics it can cause either hypo- or hyperglycemia. I'd be interested in hearing the experiences of other diabetics who have or are taking lanreotide. How high have your blood sugars gone? How low? How consistent are they? Does it vary across the 28 day cycle? How hard to manage?

I'm currently using a Freestyle Libre blood sugar monitoring system. Will that be adequate? Do I need to think about CGM with alarms for control? Or adding a miaomiao with Dripx software to turn it into a quasi-CGM? If I can avoid switching to a CGM, my finances will appreciate it. Luckily, the drugs are covered.

Waiting to see endocrinologist.
