backstabbers, brocoli and dirt toilets...uggghhhh
I have been a type I diabetic for 24 years and last year i moved to Lantus and Aprida. I do well on them but since the start of them I am plagued by nausea and on bad days vomiting. Blood sugars levels are within range. Anyone outthere that experienced the same? Would this side effect disappear if i go to use an insulin pump where there is more gradual release?
Greetings Maria

Hi Maria,
I've no experience of Apidra, but I was on lantus for 4 miserable years, many side-effects, constantly felt I had to eat to keep sicky feeling at bay, don't know if that was due to swinging Bg levels, it couldn't even get that right  . Take a look at this thread for Lantus Problems viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2797
Nausea can be caused by many things, I sometimes get a morning-sickyness feeling about 2 days before my period.
You should probably see your doc to rule out anything untoward, but bear in mind ALL analogue insulins have the potential for side-effects just like any other medication.

thanks, my period should not be a problem because i had a hysterectomy so no womb (which i dont mind at all;). Everything has been ruled out so far. Thanks for your reaction

HI again Maria
If you've ruled everything else out, and the problem only started when you changed to these analogue insulins; perhaps you should ask your doc to put you back on your previous insulin, and see if the nausea goes. That's the only way you're going to find out whether the Lantus or Apidra are causing it, which is what you suspect.
What insulins were you on previously?
