I have been a type 2 diabetic for 30 years and sing Lantus for 10 years. I am getting a lot of cramp in my lower legs at night and a lot of swelling in my feet. Whilst I was sick recently I forgot to inject and I noticed that I had no cramp or swelling in my feet. My Endo wont change my insulin but I believe that it is now causing my leg problems.

Anyone else react to lantus??

Does your Endo give reasons for not wanting to change your insulin? The doctor-patient relationship is meant to be a partnership where they listen to your views and work together with you.

On the other hand, have you discussed your symptoms with a doctor, because they might be caused by something else, and need attention.

I was on lantus insulin for several years and never experienced cramps or swelling in the feet, but if you strongly suspect that lantus is causing you problems @devans115 then I can't see why your Endo can't change your basal insulin to see if this resolves matters, if it doesn't then you can always change back again.
