Ive not long ate my tea and took my novorapid insulin, i take my lantus insulin before i go to bed. Do i have to wait a period of time after my novorapid to take my lantus?

No. Basal and bolus insulin a are designed to work in different ways so it shouldn't matter.

I'm a newbie to Lantus and Novorapid. Have I got this right? Novorapid takes care of the spike after a meal and Lantus keeps the background bg level under control. If the two are injected close together, doesn't this cause an insulin overload?

Sorry if this seems a daft question, but I'm still learning.

Yeah novorapid with meals and lantus for background and im quite new to this aswell haha & im not sure about that:/

Just be sure to use different injections sites, in other words don't inject your lantus in the same site where you injected your Novorapid previously.

Can you explain why that should make a difference?

Iv been on lantus and novo rapid for years and i take them both at dinner time just in diferent injection sites. X

@June_C, we are told to rotate our injection sites to avoid lipo problems, but I was told when starting on MDI not to inject both basal and bolus doses into the same area and keep well apart, not sure of the reason why but I'd expect one or the other insulin may effect the efficency/absorbtion in some way and this is why its not advisable, as said not sure of the answer but a Google search may provide the answer.
