My diabetic nurse changed my insulin from Levemir to Lantus to try & get 24hr background cover..made me feel ill,so I now have gone back to Levemir injecting twice a day...is there any reason why Lantus should have made feel ill?

Some people don't tolerate certain insulins and lantus does seem to be more problematic than other insulins..... although I was using it up until recent times without too many issues.
Do let your DSN know that you've changed back, if possible ask about Tresiba if levemir doesn't work for you.

Levemir is now preferred over Lantus in the new NICE Draft 2014 DEC guidelines. It doesn't last 24 hrs but presumably has other marginal benefits over Lantus?
