Latest HBA1C raised, Looking for a little positive advice.

Hi all,
i‘v posted before, but here is a very brief summary of my “journey”.
Diagnosed in October 2021 with an HBA1c of 118.
Got that down to 43 with Metformin, diet and exercise.
Had my latest results today and I’m up to 49. Not disastrous, but disappointing.
I am fairly sure the reason for this is a lapse in my eating. A little too much amazing home made sour dough bread and a few too many treats.
my cholesterol has also risen a little.
I have an appointment with a DN on Monday. I suspect she is going to suggest statins. I’m not a fan. Currently reading The Clot Thickens!
I am going to double down on my efforts to eat low carb, up my exercise and try and use a few “hacks” I’ve read about. Apple cider vinegar, fibre before carbs, etc.
If anyone has any thoughts on this, dietary advice, articles to read, up to date research, etc. I would be really interested to hear from you.
Feeling a little despondent at the moment, so a positive injection of motivational info would be much appreciated.

I forgot to say. I think I would benefit from a CGM, I am not entitled to one on the NHS and will struggle a little with affording one. I have also realised I will need a new phone as mine isn’t compatible.
Any thoughts?

You will be able to bring your numbers down, no problem, by cutting out the yummy bread and treats. Health is more important than taste. Good luck!
 
There are plenty of yummy low carb/keto recipes out there, I am eating lemon cake today which is well within my max carbs target.
I don't bother so much with bread except 90 second bread - I make mine with a spoon of cream cheese as I find that cuts the eggy taste. And I have a good, but messy to make, blueberry scone recipe too.

Wow, any chance of the blueberry scone recipe?
What do you mean by your max carb target? Is that a daily amount in grams?
