Received a voicemail whilst on holiday. My latest result is 44 and I am delighted. I knew it would be higher than Freestyle estimate of 38 because I get readings of 3s and sometimes 2s. A finger prick always shows I am in the 4s.

The nurse thinks that 44 is too low and I am in danger of hypos. This is because I am using insulin to try and control the steroids. Honestly, they just don't get it. I don't bolus for carbs because I rarely eat them. I take insulin when I see the steroids kicking in. Sometimes I get it wrong and go higher than I would like, but that's life.

Happy to report freestyle estimates 34 currently (add 6 =40) so trending downward. I have worked darned hard to get it down from 58 when I first started on the steroids.

Not phoned her back.
 
Super result especially given the steroid challenge.
 
We are back now. Busy week next week. GP to check new bumps to see if I need referral to skin specialist, neuro on Tuesday, blood test Wednesday. See specialist nurse in December and she understands what I am doing. I tend to ignore everyone else.

Brilliant result amidst the steroid challenge, @xfielddok. You're really working hard on this and your success is truly deserved.

Massive well done from me. That's a fabulous result, bearing in mind you have the steroid lottery in play.
