Just came back from my review of my latest HbA1c results .
Seen a different doc this time , not seen this one before .
Told me I should only get HbA1c once a year and there’s no need to be testing all the time as it will only upset me . I told him . If I didn’t test and know what was goin on in my body , I’d be a lot more upset . Then he tried to get me on statins as my cholesterol was at 6.3 which was lower than the last time . I told him no to them as they raise my bs and I’d rather stay of them as long as possible . To be told I’m at as much risk of a heart attack as someone who’s already had one . This difference between him and my regular go who is like . My god well done and keep up the good work .
Rant over . Why do these docs not get it

Write a note to yourself. Never see this doctor again.

Does he know that total cholesterol is meaningless? Did he look at your triglycerides and HDL?

He clearly has no idea that testing got you where you are with a non diabetic HbA1c and that moving to annual HbA1c tests means you certainly do need to test.

Keep up with what you’re doing, you know it works. Plenty of pats on the back from us even if the GP doesn’t see how well you’ve done. Back to your usual GP next time to get the recognition you deserve.
