Well, it was August 2nd 2012 when I was diagnosed Type 2 and was very confused!
I immediately read all the info on here and started low carb diet-and also reasonably low fat as well.
So, how am I doing?
Well, my meter results were between 6 amd 9.9 at the start (after starting low carb-my original blood tests showed fasting levels of 16 and 10). They are now between 4.5 and 6.5 2 hours after eating and only once in the last month did they rise to 9.5 and that was after rice, which I did on purpose to see what happened.
I have gone from 135kg to 109kg (as of 3 weeks ago, I havent weighed myself recently, but i would suspect I am now 105) and have already had to buy new suits for work, which are already too big.
I feel great, no afternoon doziness and even my boss (who dosent know I am T2) has said how pleased she is with the way I am performing recently at work.
So far, so good.
Only problem now is my BP. It was high so I started on 5mg of Ramiprill, which was then upped to 10mg. But my results at home are still to high
What else can they give me for high BP?
Overall I am pleased and its mostly down to you guys with your never ending good advice and support!
Thank you.
