I have been lo-carbing for nearly five years now, and keto for well over two (carbs around 20gm/day). I have always had a slight worry about the higher fat (especially the sat fat) part of the diet. This is due to most HCPs and "dieticians" blaming heart disease on fats for the last 40+years.
A couple of months ago (due to an unrelated problem) my Doctor referred me to a Heart Specialist who sent me for CT Tomography and CT Calcium scans. The results are now in, no sign of any artery blockages, and a Calcium score of 0.
I am now not bothered at all re the high fat part of the diet, and although this is only my result, hopefully it may reassure others who also have the same misgivings.

Brilliant news and well done for getting the scan. Very envious of your zero score.

May I ask where you had it dome?

The scans were done by the NHS at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, in Derbyshire. In view of the pandemic situation I was very grateful for the speed with which they were done - only about 6 weeks from the Specialist request to having them.

I would also like to add a big Thank You to all the helpful posters on here who have guided me since I first joined. I read most posts (apart from anything to do withT1, that is too complicated for me!) and they all, (good or not so good) help in their own ways. I am always learning something!
