LCHF Diet now been put on Statin

Given the increased risk of heart attack, raised BS and no proven links between heart disease and cholesterol, when they told me to take statins with total cholesterol of 5.1 I asked if he was taking the ****.... He didn't ask me to take them ever again.
 

Why should he?
If that was that actual response, it's on your records as abuse when offered treatment, he's covered for the future, whether you're better or worse.

My doctor at the time was a football mate, we support the same team. Context!, perhaps I should have been clearer.

He did actually admit that he was pushing it at a later date. And yes, there are incentives to prescribe statins as well as BP meds.

There is no financial benifit to GPs for prescribing statins. It is suggested in the guidelines when they should be prescribed. D.

Its in the guidelines - yes. It is also in the QOF targets etc to hit things like BP, hba1c levels etc..and to hit those targets they follow the guidelines to give the drugs.....

I suppose all you will need to do eventually is to sign a disclaimer that you don't want be treated in a certain way like people who refuse blood!
