I've been on lchf diet for 8 days. My sugar levels are good (in the 5's with occasional 6) but last 2 days I feel bluuugghhh!!
Yesterday I was very tired and dizzy. Today still a little dizzy and very snappy and irritable.
Is this down to low carbs? If so will it stop???

It is but it will pass. Commonly known as carb flu, give it another couple of days, the carbs will do anything to keep you eating them. STAY STRONG

Yes the salt and water tips are both good ones. You will have cut down on salt quite a lot by low carbing, so your body may be missing it. Well done on your BG's though, that's pretty amazing stuff so early on. :)

Dr Trudi Deakin says in her 'eat fat' book 'it takes time for your body to adapt' ... It can take up to 6 weeks for your body to fully adapt .... This may result in you feeling heavy legged with a feeling of exhaustion...' It passes, often after 2 weeks. Her book is a very good / interesting read.... Especially given that she advises the NHS on diets and writes the NHS x-pert health programmes.

I found I was the same as you when I started, trying to get as near to 5 as possible with every finger prick. I soon worked out that in the 5-6 range (which meant cutting ALL carbs out or as many as humanly possible) that I was very irritable but put that down to the lack of food available to me. I then started eating a little of what I fancied taking me to the 6-8 range, (8 being 2 hours after eating) and found that because I was including stuff I liked, I was a lot happier. On top of that, with lots of walking, I was still losing weight. I have now lost 5kgs (over 10lbs) in 16 days. On the 1st of this month I was 81kgs (12st 11lbs), today I weighed in at 76kgs (11st 13lbs). Now I'm not saying this will work for everybody but I know it works for me.
The other thing I have going for me is a very strong will power. If I know I've gone overboard a little with what I've eaten (I can feel it in my face) I will put more effort into walking or exercising to compensate.
Try to stick with what you are doing as you must be doing something right, and maybe just have a little treat now and then to make you happy.:D

I'm staying strong (not easy though) I made some oopsie bread today, which was lovely! Made a sandwich out of it for lunch and smothered it in homemade garlic butter to go with musacka tonight.mmmmmmm!.

My first thought was that you'd dropped the dough on the floor:rolleyes:.................but then my nicer side took over and is asking, what is oopsie bread?:D
