Loved the first dinner...been reducing carbs slowly last week with good effect so now started the 2week diet and hopefully continue to bring down BG

good luck, I'm 3 weeks into a relaxed approach but no snacking inbetween, and I am already seeing my appetite decrease, so hope you find it ok

I havd been doing low carbs full on for 5 weeks and sugars are great, lost nearly 2 stone and I inject far less insulin. My regime is 1 shot of insulin for every 5 carbs I eat. X

Beach Hut,

Key is to remember that this is a marathon not a sprint. Slow and steady is good. Find out what foods hit your BG levels highest. I got a shock with blueberries yesterday.....

How odd, I started following those recipes on Sunday too. How did you find the low carb pizza, I had real trouble with it. (assuming its the 2 week challenge from dietdoctor). So far I have disappointingly only lost half a pound.

I found the Diet Doctor 2 week challenge great - but I'm not loosing weight on the plan. BG's are looking good though so that's something :)

SeanJ, You did not say how many carbs per day you consume. Speaking for myself, others will no doubt identify themselves!), My weight loss started and continues by the reduction of carbs to 20 per day. This is compensated for by my increasing my proteins and fats per day (proteins 50 per day and Fats typically 20 per day on average) Since starting this regime on the 15th May, I have lost 35 lbs and continue to lose weight weekly. Perhaps you might give it a try? One of the benefits is "no hunger pangs"

I think perhaps the portions are rather large, and when you think of it - it is a US site. perhaps I am just eating too much as I have to say I'm pretty full after meals so maybe that's why I haven't lost sny weight.
How are you feeling now Beech hut?

Well done Beach Hut... good luck with the program :)

Hi all well I'm sticking with the low carb high fat diet as it's brought my blood glucose right down and appears stable now between 4.5-7.2 with the odd blip of 8. I've stopped my Gliclazide as bloods were dropping too low-3.2 full dose metformin sr now so very pleased with progress so far considering BG was 22mmols on diagnosis 6weeks ago. Disappointed I haven't lost any weight but I'm sure in time I will. One thing I noticed was my head feels clearer if that makes sense..the cotton wool brain has cleared
