Well ive been toying with lchf for a few days now and yesterday afternoon i decided to go for it. My readings yesterday were
on waking 5.6 - up late so missed breakfast. (not usual since my type 2 diagnosis about a month ago)
About 11.15 i ate a banana
Pre lunch 7.5 - decided this was because of missing breakfast and i ate the banana (realise now just how bad they are)
Lunch - 2 small pieces of wholegrain multi seeded bread with cheese spread and a few nuts
Post lunch 7.2
Decided on Lchf from now on after advice from forum
Pre dinner 6.5
Steak, mushrooms and salad - strawberries and cream
Post dinner 6.6
Today on waking 6.3 (always been in 6's apart from yesterday morning)
Late breakfast of fruit and cream (pineapple, melon and mango) - few nuts

Post breakfast 4.9

Ive usually had the multi seeded toast for breakfast since diagnosis as this did not raise my bg too much. However now i have seen the difference in my readings i shall continue with the fruit. I cant face much when i first awake and so my breakfast time is usually a hour or so after i get up. My post dinner last night (2 hours) was only .1 up on the before and this morning 2 hours after the fruit and cream, it was 4.9. Wow! Im still a bit worried about putting back on the weight i have lost so far - almost 1 stone since diagnosis - I guess getting my head round the high fats being good for us is going to take a while when we have always been taught to eat low fat, but all i can do is try for a while with fingers crossed. Ive also not felt so hungry between meals. I know its still very, very early days but long may this continue...

Well done Pip :)
Thank you Noblehead. Feeling excited now to try new things. Planning on celery, cream cheese, cucumber and 1 wholegrain ryvita with more fruit for lunch. Im guessing the ryvita will knock up the figures, but i have IBS-a and losing the bread from diet which seemed to help with that, well, im a bit afraid. I can only try..then go from there

Wonderful news pip.

I must admit, I found raising the fat content of my meals quite difficult, at first (as a child I would be sick after fish and chips, lol). But I took it slowly, increasing it gradually, and I wouldn't go back now.

Am feeling so much better.

You mean feeling so much butter:rolleyes:, sorry couldn't help myself.:p

Great result. Low carb certainly produces results and makes control easier.
