I'm in the same boat. 12 days.
Waiting for this boundless energy to kick in.
Felt a bit run down first few days plus a headache and coughing.
Now I just don't seem to have the same energy I used to have.
Read that it only lasts for a few days but in some cases up to 3 weeks.
I told myself I would give it a good go and give it 100% for up to 2 months.
So carrying on with it for at least that amount of time.
Short answer, yes.Been on this for probs a week now, bs has dropped but I don't feel any better, I probably feel worse tbh
will this get any better in the long run?
Type 2. Not on any meds, trying to solve things through diet. What was your diet like before ? And now? How many carbs are you aiming for? Are you eating too much fat? Too much protein?
Personally I don't do well with lots of animal fat. I do much better with avocado, olive oil, mayo and some nuts and seeds. I don't do well with slabs of protein either.
Is it digestion? Fatigue? What isn't feeling well and how are your bloods? If they've dropped a lot while starting that could effect you as well
Frank, what type of diabetic are you and are you on meds?
Thanks. I know about the salt and plenty of water.Hi @James1968 and @frankbegbie

Stick with it .. it's worth it ..
You are so right there. I was getting cramps last week in the calf of my leg at night. I read somewhere that on a low carb diet people do not consume as much salt and can be the cause of cramps. I started to add a little salt to my low carb diet and have not had any sinceTwo common problems when starting LCHF.
- Not drinking enough water so drink more.
- Not having enough salt, as it is very likely your meals now have less salt in them, and a little more salt is needed on LCHF anyway. I find a stock cube (or marmite) in a cup of hot water two times a day sorts this out.
Glad your feeling better. If you were high carb and really reduced them then it's probably carb flu.Type 2. Not on any meds, trying to solve things through diet.
Funnily enough I started feeling pretty good after coming back from a swim earlier
and having something to eat.
Maybe the start of something good.
I feel getting enough sleep is vital for me, but having to go to the toilet up to 4 times a night doesn't help.
Had to have a little sleep in the afternoon yesterday.
Should be ok today though as I only got up twice in the night.
Not really counting them I just put the veg on the plate till it looks enough plus the meat.Glad your feeling better. If you were high carb and really reduced them then it's probably carb flu.
Another possibility is if you stopped eating breads and glutenous grains you're probably detoxing those as well. That's a nasty detox. Loads of people are intolerant to gluten/wheat/ grains and don't realize it. Once they quit, even inadvertently due to low carbs they feel awful until its out of their systems.
You may have turned a corner. Don't forget some good healthy fats. No need to gib them. Just normal amounts.
Give your body a chance to catch up with all these changes. Sounds like you're willing too!!! Good for you for no bailing!!
What is your carb goal?
Meat and veg sound perfect. I assume you e eliminated lots of carbs? Just an FYI, excess protein CAN turn to bs. 58% so over eating protein is not recommended. Although as a type 2 you may not have issues. Not really counting them I just put the veg on the plate till it looks enough plus the meat.
Cabbage, Broccolli, Swede, Spinach.
Minced Beef , Belly Pork , good quality Sausages, Chicken Thighs.
Also add a bit of butter to the veg.
Still in the proces of sorting my diet out; bit of trial and error.
Not having any snacks up to now.
We'll see in the weeks to come wether I'm doing the right things.
