Hi I need some advice I would like to try LCHF DIET but as I have high colesterol I don't know if it's advisable, I need to loose weight, about 11/2 stone but but don't know how high fats would affect it ? .
Thank you I will show this to she that thinks she's obeyed other wise she will not believe me thanks again JJTotal cholesterol may not go down immediately with LCHF, but what's important is that your HDL will go up and your triglycerides will fall. Have a look at my first year story linked below.
I'm going to give it a go so thanks, I hope you can get out of popping a few more pills good luck JJI have heart problems and since I did LCHF my cholesterol levels are so in the low normal range now I am starting to stop taking the statins .. Seeing HFN tomorrow and will se if any other heart meds can be also reduced

Fantastic! I reversed my diabetes with LCHF and my health care professionals are impressed, but I don't think they get it. They just can't get their heads around the idea of deviating from the official mandated dietary advice.Yes ....no more statins for me ....
Metformin was stopped ages ago ...
Blood pressure normal ...
I am now just overweight not obese anymore ..
Happy days ...hope the LCHF works for you because it works for me. I even told my HFN what diet I was following ..she was so taken aback in the way I look and sound ..my heart was sounding as clear as a bell the first time in ... Well forever really (16yrs) she really wanted to know ..so I told her ...LCHF ...and she said ..wow keep at it ..it's working .....
And the best bit ..I was NOT dreaming ..its for real
I don't think my practice would ever say I had reversed anything .. But my numbers never go above the non diabetic range now .... Was quite worried about the affect on my heart with the LCHF..but it's as good for my heart as it is for my blood sugars .. The HFN was shocked... Surprised then delighted when I told her of my new eating plan.Fantastic! I reversed my diabetes with LCHF and my health care professionals are impressed, but I don't think they get it. Yes you are right .. I had lots of diet advice after my bypass op 23 years ago .. and low fat was drummed into our eating plan. After that kind of surgery you tend to take note of diet advice. Did not keep up to date with diet info ... But when diabetes was added to my health problems it caused me to review my eating plans. My diabetes was a good thing for me as my sliding health caused by incorrect advice from the DSN caused me to find LCHF.I think the whole "fat clogs your arteries" nonsense is pretty much dead.
I know it's a hot topic for debate on this forum, but I consider my type 2 diabetes reversed:
From WebMD: "The term 'reversal' is used when people can go off medication but still must engage in a lifestyle program in order to stay off," says Ann Albright, PhD, RD. She's the director of diabetes translation at the CDC.
