Learning Insulin...

Hi, composed a wee verse - the melody if you feel like humming along is the Matchstalk Men song from ages hence by Brian and Michael.

I must inject my insulin
in fatty bits below my skin
and parts of me I wish I didn't own.
I sometimes wonder 'bout my thigh
when I go searching with a sigh
for places I can jab: 'where is my clone?'

Now they say the bruises slowly fade
into a brownish purple shade
but I feel like I sleep with a hedgehog.
My belly doesn't mind the jab
I have a pretty decent flab
but with all this walking, legs feel like a log.

But test my morning levels - midday levels too
I test my evening levels that's what I have to do
And I take my meter and strips even on my restroom trips
and test my post-p levels, and post shower too!

Now in the morning I get up
and before having my first cup
I test and give myself a little pinch
They ask for lower levels still
or I will have to pay the bill.
I'm full of little dots for every inch.

But I test my morning levels - midday levels too.
I test my evening levels - that's what I have to do.
And I take my meter and strips even on my restroom trips
and test my post-p levels, and post shower too!

Now lately I've gone L-C-H-F
and of my thighs there's little left.
I wonder what I'll do when they are gone?!
I test for ketones now and then
and then a couple times again
- and my finger tips have little punch holes on...

But I test my morning levels - midday levels too.
I test my evening levels - that's what I have to do.
And I take my meter and strips even on my restroom trips
and test my post-p levels, and post shower too!

Yeah, I test my breakfast levels - dinner levels too.
I test my fasting levels and bedtime levels too.
And I take my meter and strips and a hypo kit on trips
and test my post-gym levels, and post testing too!
