hi all

I was taking lessons before I was diagnosed. Now want to start them again.

Do I have to do anything differently now that I'm diabetic? I mean in terms of my licence / test

You must notify them and fill in the health questionnaire at which time I guess they will issue you a 1 to 3 year provisional licence if all is ok.

The questionnaire is on their web page, print and complete. Good luck.

Also don't forget to test your bg before getting behind the wheel of a car, you should also make your insurance company aware that you have a restricted licence (when it arrives) due to your type 1 diabetes.

Also, when you find your instructor, make sure that he or she knows about your diabetes, signs to be aware of if you are going low and so on, as learning to drive can be very stressful.
