Finished my tea at 8.10 just tested its it's 7.0 is that ok I've been told b4 but keep forgetting lol x

Hi! 7 sounds ok, although when you test is important. Guidelines are that 2 hours after eating, we should be 8.5 or less. Many of us, after a while on a lower carb diet, try to get lower than that. One target is to be lower than 7.8 AT The 2 hour stage, because, as I said on another thread, 7.8 is the maximum a normal average non diabetic should be at AT THAT 2 HOUR stage. I stressed that because I was misinterpreted on that other thread. :D
Good luck with your test results!

If it helps, here is a table from diabetes uk showing the levels

Recommended target blood glucose level ranges
The International Diabetes Federation have specified the following blood glucose levels: [19]

IDF recommended target blood glucose level ranges
Target Levels
by
Before meals. 2 hours after

Non-diabetic 4.0 to 5.9 mmol/L under 7.8 mmol/L*
Type 2 diabetes 4 to 7 mmol/L under 8.5 mmol/L
Type 1 diabetes 4 to 7 mmol/L under 9 mmol/L
Children w/ diabetes 4 to 8 mmol/L under 10 mmol/L

Also worth pointing out Grazer that the study that showed 7.8 mmol/l as a maximum normal level only showed that in 5% of the participants.. the vast majority of the participants were under 6.1 mmol/l at two hours post meal, mostly failing between 5.0 - 6.1 mmol/l.. clearly that's a tougher target! but certainly one worth aiming for.

Do agree Pneu, and aim for that myself, but as Hevab is new I thought it worth having some "early day" targets, on the basis you can tighten up more later once your settled in to your regime. Hevab, once you can consistently get down below 8, do aim lower but don't panic if you miss sometimes!

Thanks guys I must write that down as I said in op I no I've been told b4 but keep losing the post it was on lol 5.9 this morning :)
