levels what should they be

Just starting to test myselfand wondering what the readings should be. When 1st diagnosed last november my 2 readings from blood tests were 18.4 and 19.5 fasting.
Since then gone onto metoformin 2x2 500mg twice a day my own testing which has been done over the last week or so ranges from 17.4 and 7.1 1st thing in morning any help would be most appreciative regards Phil.
 
You should be aiming for something like 9 mmol or less 2 hours after a meal and a fasting level around 7 mmol or less. If you are not already keeping the carbs down then you should find an improvement if you do. Exercise always helps. Are you normal or overweight?
