Hi All

I recently changed my G.P because of moving to a new area and last week i went to pick up my first repeat prescription from him, when i visited for the 1st time i asked him just for some test stripes as i had enough of everything else for now, i went though my prescription with him telling him all what needs to be on it and all went well. When i collected my prescription he had put down everything on the list, i was going to go back and tell him but decided not to as i would probably have to order some more insulin and that the following week.

When i picked up my insulin Humalog cartridges (which was ok) and Levemir cartridges i was a bit surprised that he had given me 5 x levemir dissolvable flexpens, i have never had these before and wondered has the levemir cartridges stopped being produced but surely the dissolvable pens must be more exspensive than the cartridges. I'm not sure if i should keep these on my re-peat prescription or tell the G.P i want the cartridges instead, he has also given me 5mm microfine needles instead of the 4mm microfine needles would this make a difference?

I hate changing G.P's for this reason and its not as if its a 5 minute walk away either but this G.P surgery or should i say medical centre had alot better review than the one closest to me., so i did'nt want to join to a surgery that had really bad reviews. I must say the G.P himself is nice enough i have no problems there.

any advice would be great thanks

Gp may have made a mistake. I always (moved many times!) take the cardboard box clearly showing the vials or cartridges to the gp when I move surgery.
Theres so many cartridges etc for them to look through on their systems, its could just be a simple mistake...

Incidentally, I was given the picture passport cards of insulin to carry with me in my purse, incase of chemist ot doctors giving their own thoughts of what I need incase of going into hospital etc... Or changing gp's again!!
