Hi everyone

I have been on levemir for quite a few years now, I went on a dafne course in February which gave me a better understanding on how to change insulin doses of needed. Things seemed to settle down but then every few weeks or months my Levemir dose seems to need changing as I am raising through the night, does anyone else find this happens with Levemir? In unsure as to whether to ask to go on lantus?

Thanks
Ellen

It happens with all basal's @EllenRooney93, insulin doses are not set in stone and do fluctuate from time-to-time, on MDI mine would change 3-4 times a year and I was using lantus.

If you insist on changing basal insulin's then I would ask about Tresiba, it has a flatter profile than levemir and lantus and is only injected once a day.

Thanks for your reply. Thinking about it I have just left full time work where I was walking around for 12 hours 3 times a week and I am due to start university next week so maybe not being so active and maybe the stress of starting university could be causing the problem.
It's just frustrating that it seems to work for a month and then all of a sudden needs changing.

I might ask about Tresiba and see what my Dsn thinks
