levimer discontinued

You might find something in this thread that may be helpful or may answer your question

Not sure why just know that it is . I was on it but have been changed to a different Basel insulin Humulin I .
It works fine . At my age I don’t ask why , I just accept than when these sort of decisions are made it ain’t going to change, but if I had to guess I would say money .

AI Overview Novo Nordisk is discontinuing Levemir (both FlexPen and Penfill cartridges) due to global usage trends, portfolio consolidation, and manufacturing constraints, as it is an older insulin. The manufacturer has confirmed the decision is not related to any safety or quality issues.UK supply is expected to be phased out completely by the end of 2026. Because Levemir is being phased out, healthcare professionals are actively advising patients to transition to suitable alternative basal insulins as soon as possible.

Found when I googled.

I pride myself in achieving decent results with my last HBA1C being 5.7 or 39.
I've used levemir for about 20 years and am down to my last few vials.
I chose tresiba as it lasts 36 hours and i have 1 pack of 5 vials and am about to order another before i start.
It feels like a big thing to me but i'm armed with a CGM and over 50 years of experience so fingers crossed.

Good luck to us all

Tony
