Posted a couple weeks ago as finally got myself set up with the Libre 2 plus CGM system. I was having issues scanning the sensor with my iPhone but finally managed this. Raved about how good this was and got my mum set up also but through a reader as her phone isn’t able to download the app. Went through to hers today and got her started and as my sensor was due to be replaced thought I’ll give her a demo on attaching a sensor etc. Her reader scanned her sensor no bother but I had issues once again scanning via my phone.

Came home, finally gave up and thought possibly a faulty sensor so removed it and put another new one. Same issue once again. Just will not scan. Searched the internet for clues and come across a few references to the latest apple iOS update 18.1 not always being compatible with the app

I have an old iPhone in a drawer which has not been updated to the latest iOS so thought I’ll try the app on there and lo and behold it scanned straight away. So great but now it means I have to carry my old phone around and make sure it is also charged.

Is this a real issue that others are aware of? And if so this kinda sucks does it not?

Hi - mine has 18.2.1 & scanning well with my first Libre 2plus. Try ringing Abbott support. I found them really helpful when I first started with Libre 2 & I had something switched on which should have been off (or vice versa) buried in the menu. First obvious check is make sure your Bluetooth is on of course (unless you’re using Shuggah) . The chap at Abbott was very patient & talked me through all the screens on my iPhone to set up correctly & I’ve had no scanning problems since.
Note if you used it for your mums you need to reset for yours. You could try deleting the app & reinstalling which worked when mine was playing up last year.
Good luck
