Hi,

Apologies if this is already covered somewhere, I searched but couldn't find anything

I will come to the end of my Libre 2 plus trial later this week and wanted to order my next sensor (self funded)

I noticed on the Abbott site that they have a "Libre 2 Plus Starter Pack" which doesn't really clearly state what it is but apparently "includes everything you need to get started" and also states "comes with two FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensors"

The starter pack is £86.23 (UK) whereas a sensor on it's own is £51.74

I'm therefore thinking it would make sense for me to order the starter pack if it includes 2 sensors but am I missing anything here? i.e. are the sensors in the starter pack the same, do they work with the app the same etc. Is anybody who has ordered the starter pack able to confirm please?

Thanks

Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
Watching with interest.
I wonder if you are only allowed one starter pack!

I google what was in the starter pack and it’s says it only has 2 sensors so it’s a saving I guess dunno what the criteria is for it .the do gooder in me in me wonders if Abbott know how you are diabetic , do they have access to medical records or else there’s nothing stopping family members ordering more than one starter pack for you . Hmmmm

I tried contacting Abbott by phone but it was a frustrating experience where the agent didn't seem to even know about the starter pack offered on their website and kept thinking I was asking about the free trial (despite me clarifying numerous times that I'd had the free trial and was now looking to place a paid order). Even when mentioning the price and the fact that the starter pack was more expensive, the conversation led back to the free trial. I think there was something of a language barrier. It was clear that the conversation was going nowhere and even if I could get them to understand that they offered a starter pack for sale, any information I would get would probably just be confirming the text already on the website back to me (i.e. they had no internal knowledge it seemed) - so I gave up in the end

I think I'll just take a punt on ordering the starter pack and hope the website is accurate. The ordering is whilst I'm logged into my account on their website so I guess they could easily restrict it to one per account if they so wish. It's not an excessive reduction so perhaps they are happy to still sell at that price for multiple
