Having used the Libre 2 then the 2 plus for a few years I have become increasingly frustrated that Abbott don’t and have any plans, as per an email this week, to make it compatible with providing read outs on the Apple Watch. I have just sent off for the free trial of the Dexcom One plus which appears to have two advantages over the Libres. Firstly it will provide read outs on my Apple Watch and if I subscribe will work out cheaper per day. Disadvantages well disadvantage (singular) it only lasts 10 days. So my post is to ask members here who have used both to provide their views on both CGMs, especially how well read outs on Apple Watch workout with the Dexcom One Plus.

Edit for typo

Hi Rachox.
I'll be careful what I say here but I'll offer a couple of pointers.
1/ I have found Dexcom to be infinitely more reliable than Libre. I was extremely tired with the frequency of Libre failures I was experiencing. I've been on Dexcom for almost 2 years now and the only failure I've experienced was due to me not applying it properly.
2/ There is a method of extending the life of a Dexcom sensor. My current one is on day 15. I've had one get to day 20 before the adhesive failed and it quite literally fell off my arm. Most (but not all) will last 3 to 4 days longer before they start peeling off or giving strange readings. Will send you a dm on this.

Sorry but I haven't used a watch (of any description) for a decade or more and rely on my phone which seems adequate for me.

Hi, i’ve used Dexcom 1+ for some time now. Exactly how do you get it to extend past 10 day limit plus the 12 hour grace period? I didn’t know you could do it many thanks.

Exactly the same experience over the last 6 months with Libre 2 plus on iPhone and am thinking of switching to Dexcom. Libre 2 plus has consistently failed on iPhone 12, 14 and 15 - fourteen sensors with average use time of 8 days (range 4 hours to 11 days). These are all compatibility failures - no fall offs. Libre 2 was way better with a full 14 days work life. Libre 2 plus has been a disaster for Abbott. Yes, they replace them but the faff of having to call in and then chase the idiotic delivery agent they use (Parcel Force) makes this a complete fail for me. Goodbye Abbott.

I used the Libre 2 at the start of my self funding but switched to Dexcom 1+ because it was cheaper to subscribe. I’ve since found it more accurate plus it’s on my watch without having to use a third party app.
I’ve recently had three fail on me during warm up which have been replaced swiftly with no quibble by the company. It appears I may have a bad batch. Even with these mishaps I’m sticking with Dexcom. It sometimes inexplicably loses the signal connection which is annoying but doesn’t last long…but that happened more often with the Libre.
I’d love for it to last longer than ten days because it has very powerful adhesive.
