I have just had a phone call from my GP surgery saying that my chemist has told them that they only have Libre 2 plus and will that work for me. I have no idea! Can anyone advise? What I presently have is just the LIBRE 2 sensor and I know nothing about whether Libre 2 plus will work on my system, nor whether I need a different prescription for Libre 2 plus. The GP's surgery seem to be indicating I can use the prescription my GP has already done (which will have been for the expected libre 2.) Can someone tell me how the plus one is different? Thank you!

Hi Lionchild,

Libre 2+ is an upgraded version of Libre 2. I use it with Omnipod 5 closed loop. It lasts for 15 days. Apart from that much the same.

the libre2 is discontinuing within the uk will require to switch to libre2plus.

abbots are phasing them out for uk, alongside several other countries. aug was the last month for libre2. you shouldn't really notice any other changes when moving to the libre2+ :)

Hi,

The Libre 2+ lasts an extra day. (Lifespan.)
Visibly no different to the L2 & should work with your LL app. (If you updated recently?)

My surgery changed my prescription at the beginning of the year. But it took about 3 months for the chemist to catch on..

I’ve noticed nothing different other than “changeover day” moving forward 24 hours every 15 days..
