Hi everyone,
hope you are all doing well.

I have a libre 1 currently and am happy with it. I like using a reader and not the phone. I don't feel like being that dependent to phones and the reader is much smaller and I can use it without fiddling, just has one button.

They will start giving us libre 2 sensors soon, but not the reader. Not sure why, is the libre 2 reader still in production, or they want us all to switch to phones in the future?
I searched for it on the internet, I couldn't find the reader on the Abbott site and it seems to be pretty scarce elsewhere (Amazon, eBay) ...

Anyone has more info?
Thanks

Abbot supplied my reader for the libre 2. In fact I’m on my second one. I managed to wear out the first!

Thanks, so hopefully they will arrive here too... I'll just stick to no1 until they get the readers

Just to say @MommaE I was very resistant to using the phone with my Libre 2 and stuck with the reader for about a year. Then I got a new phone and decided to go for it. Best thing I did. Inputting the information is easier. It allows you to amend later, and just being able to use Libre Link and have my consultant see my results in front of him without me having to faff with the computer is brilliant. Don’t discount it.

I agree with the above becca59 I have the sensor Libra 2 and readings on the phone the Nurse can see my readings at the surgery although i do find the readings from the sensor slightly differ from finger pricking.

I don't doubt that the phone is great, I just don't want to be forced to have it on me all the time.
Sometimes I feel like using a phone with buttons, or no phone at all.

I have the app installed and use it occasionally...

I’m sure I’d agree with you if I already had a phone to also use for other purposes. I understand that small changes are easier to notice too on a phone. However, I’m probably just being stubborn in deciding a cell phone is an expense I’d rather not have so have never bought one. I pay for insulin, needles, libre etc. so I just appreciate my reader for what it is, I dont want to spend anymore on diabetes. Maybe that’s part of resenting having an illness and I should just pull up my big girl socks and get on with it. Eek, that’s a bit much of a rant to start a day, I do appreciate your comment and think you’re probably right. Now to get out of bed on the right side.
