Hi

Just had the update to the freestyle libre 2 so it acts a cgm. Just wondering if there is a way to show a live reading on a smart watch rather than just alerts.

Do you have iphone and was this update today please as still waiting (on android)

Have you tried one of the 3rd party apps? I use Diabox on android and it sends BGs to my watch every 5 mins.

I use the freestyle Libre with iOS app and Apple watch and I get a live update every few seconds and all I've got to do is add something to the update or not to register it and my diabetes nurse reads them every so often and let's me know if I need to up my insulin or drop the dose even though I'm type 2 I'm on the border of type 1 but registered as type 2

There are some 3rd party app. I use Sweet Dreams - Sugar Tracker. Generate bg report in Lock Screen and creates a calendar entry that’s shown on Apple Watch. Gluroo is similar but I found it too complex, Lock Screen only via notifications.

I use Freestyle Libre for my sugars and for my hypos just when they happen I use a GlucoMen areo GK as it’s a new meter from them I found it easy to use for hypos and ketones checking but my main blood meter is the Freestyle Libre as it’s on 24 hrs a day 7 days a week except when you change it but otherwise I don’t prick my finger unless I have to

Steveee - are you able to walk me through how you set you BG readings as calendar entries app on your Apple Watch? I’m stuck!
Thank you!

Hi I use Shuggah (xDrip4iOS) to display on my Apple Watch . You have to turn off the Bluetooth on the libre 2 app & it can take a while to sort it self out. With my 1st sensor it took about 10 mins - this one hours (but the sensor is playing up - Abbot are replacing). It works by syncing with your calendar which can be a bit annoying as it clutters up but I have now switched calendars. IMG_1691914550.368165.jpgOn my watch it will only display the Shuggah “complication”on the dull modular face but shows your BG level & direction of travel & alarms are more discrete so a game changer for me.
There are various instructions online on how to set up depending on your devices. My iPhone 13 & Watch were fairly straightforward but it is “techy” & not very intuitive so worth reading. Note Libre & Shuggah use different algorithms to calculate BG so for me if steady they roughly agree but can differ widely when changing rapidly. I always check with Libre if needed. You can calibrate the Shuggah but I’ve not been brave enough to try that yet. My present Libre loses signal & then Shuggah has to spend a while “waiting for data” which is annoying- but that’s to do with my dodgy sensor I think.
