It will need NFC. A quick look on Google says that A12 does not support NFC so that wouldn't work.

I have an A12 and it works fine with LibreLink app

Well just to update the Samsung A12 works, but doesn't scan as reliably or conveniently as the reader so reverted to that.

I have a Realme Pro model RMX2063 and that works fine.
