I'm not sure what you mean?I’ve found that if my Libre 2 sensor expires at 16.00 on a Wednesday the new sensor won’t start up until that time even if e.g. it has accidentally came off the day before.
Is this a unique feature or glitch with Libre 2?
Not so Antje77. I do as it says but can takes several hours to engage ... almost as if the expiry time is set in stone leaving a lag time of potentially hours (or days?).I'm not sure what you mean?
If you lose a sensor early you can simply apply a new one and scan it.
The app/reader will tell you that a new sensor is found and do you want to start it now. Tap yes and scan again and it'll work after the 60 minutes warm up.
Sounds like you have a dodgy sensor. Not so Antje77. I do as it says but can takes several hours to engage ... almost as if the expiry time is set in stone leaving a lag time of potentially hours (or days?).
I experience similar. When my husband's sensor falls off, we are unable to start a new replacement sensor until the old one times out on it's expected date and time. Putting a new sensor on results in a message stating this decice is incompatible with this system. (Both are Libre 2) The old one sitting in the box just says it can't get a glucose reading. Try again in 10 minutes. This continues until the old disc reaches the end of it's 14 day petiod. The expiry time is set in stone (or at least software) and is exactly 14 days after activation (unless it fails beforehand). You are welcome to remove it before then if you desire.
It then takes an hour for a new sensor to “warm up” and you cannot start the warm up before the old one has expired.
However, one hour without a CGM should not be considered a catastrophe. Remember, many of us had decades without one and are still alive and kicking.
