It's approved but not on general rollout yet, hoping they'll just upgrade from 2 to 3. Any idea when this'll happen in the uk?

No doubt it will be the usual postcode lottery again , been type 1 for 48 years and have asked but been turned down for a Libre , Norfolk by the way !

It is approved in so much as being safe to use, and is on something called the NHS Supply Chain, My consultant says she 'can' order from the supply chain but it is onerous and it has to be done for each order - no repeat prescription facility.

The three CGMs we can get are on something called the Formulary. GPs can order from this easily.

Getting the L3 onto the formulary is just a paper shuffling exercise as far as I can see.

To this end I have written to my MP and she has promised to put my letter in front of the appropriate minister.

I'm not holding my breath:(.

That's a shame, I thought they were std issue.

Our MP (Nadaim Zahawi) doesn't do much to engage with the locals so probably wouldn't do much good.

I've read some reviews on the German version of Trustpilot. It appears some German users of the Libre 3 (which is supposed to be readily available in Germany) are reporting challenges getting timely deliveries of their Libre 3.

I've also read that some USA users of Libre 3 are having the same challenges getting hold of product.

It sounds like Abbott are having challenges making enough of this product and distributing it to people that want them.

They are supposed to be opening two new production sites in Ireland, in part to increase European manufacturing capacity of the Libre 3.

@Richard F are you aware that the NICE recommendations for Libre 3 are not for everyone like Libre 1 and 2?
Libre 3 comes under the same category as Dexcom 6 and 7.
So, even when the "supply chain" is sorted that does not guarantee we will get it regardless of your postcode.

That's what I thought last year and asked at my annual review in march only to be told that there were far more deserving patients in front of me , I guess my annual review will be in march again and will ask again . I'me not holding my breath though !

I have an annual check up at our hospital which has a special department for diabetes care and was told last year that there were not enough Libre 2s available to supply every type 1 diabetic in our area , that was in march so before the NICE guidelines were introduced , I did phone them later only to be told what was in my last post . I guess I will attend the clinic in march and will ask the question again !

It's a postcode lottery.

I saw my Endo a few days ago. They confirmed to me no one in our integrated care system area is using Freestyle Libre 3 because ultimately the ICS has to pay for the Libre 3 sensors through the funding arrangements used and my ICS hasn't (won't?) implemented the pan-London criteria for continuous glucose monitors and flash glucose monitors, that were approved across NHS London on 5 October 2022.

Spoke to the diabetic team, libre 3 with closed loop omnipod 5 hook up, later this year.

"Would you like to try it"?

Yes please.

"Would I like to try it" yes

Anyone had any joy getting the Libre 3 yet? I have my review next week and I wonder if I can ask for it with any confidence?
