Hi, I’ve been using these since early March - went abroad in March and it died about 3 days in, currently abroad again and it’s died- good job I took the back up finger prick kit - anyone had similar experience - can’t these stand a bit of heat. I deliberately kept it out of sun/heat as much as possibl? I got a replacement through Libre after March’s issue, don’t want to do this every time we go on holiday.

I know the last few times I was holiday abroad (about 5-7 years ago mind) I had no problems with sensors failing - one time it was 39C, I was complaining and whinging and melting (I hated that heat) but the sensor was fine (still a Libre 1 at the point mind)

The only one I had to replace was cos I walked into the edge of a big wooden crate and knocked my sensor clean off lol! That crate had very sharp edges - I think the sensor stopped some of the damage to me!

It could just be bad timing. I have taken Libre overseas many times and used them in the heat of the UK summer last year without any issues.
If I plan to be away (in the UK or further afield) for more than a few days, I always take a spare sensor.
Finger prick meters should always be carried (especially if you drive) to check Libre readings as they are not always accurate. Even Abbott recommend checking unexpected readings with a finger prick.
