Libre lag

Can anyone help me understand the libre lag please? I understand that the sensor reading lags 15 mins behind the blood test reading. I understand the ‘train analogy’ given by Abbott. But in real terms it doesn’t make sense. For example, my blood reading says 6.5, whilst my sensor reading will say 9.5 with an upward trend. So I assume the blood reading is going down the train hill, with the sensor reading still on an upward trend waiting to reach the hill and then to also go down the hill. So I don’t give myself any insulin (as I assume I will be going down if the sensor reading is lagging behind the blood reading). However, 10 mins later they have both risen? This happens all the time and it’s so confusing and frustrating. Also, on occasion, the difference between the two readings has been 8. Any ideas please?

I find exactly the same problem, the difference in readings can be quite alarming. If I need an accurate reading I always use my machine. I also find that a lot of the time it reads sensor unavailable please try again in ten minutes, this is particularly annoying if I’m out walking and need to check my sugar has not gone too low.
