Hello. I need to get some advice for my mother. She had a Samsung A13 and is using the Libre link app for Libre 2. I have just got her a new iPhone and it is not giving her notifications when she taps her sensor and doesn’t update her live readings so I’m going to take it back. She is in her 70’s and is not great with phones. So she doesn’t want an expensive phone just one that she can use specifically for the app. Can anyone recommend a phone that this will work with? She wants to get the notifications when she taps the sensor and the live readings to show up. I’ve tried contacting Abbots and haven’t had much success. Any advice would be great! Thank you!

You can keep the phone .need to ring Libre they should beable to down load the apps to the phone. Plus advice you how it done.
Just had my apps for Samsung Galaxy S8 and I am in my 70s

Thanks. I got my boyfriend to download the app on his phone and it comes up with sound notifications. He has a Samsung, it doesn’t do that on the iPhone. I think I’m just going to change the phone!

Something to bear in mind libre sensor if change phone will only be paired with that one phone so not to possibly waste sensor timing if wanting to change would prevent discarded sensor. Have you tried xdrip+ that works with phone and should do what want.

Xdrip+ only works with android phones and not iPhones.

I have seen a number of people on here saying that they have been told by Abbott that librelink isn’t compatibility with the latest version of iOS. The issue seems to be with the phone loosing the Bluetooth connection.

I’m on version 18.7.1 and don’t have any problems scanning the sensor, but I don’t use the Bluetooth or alarms as I use third party software. That software does require you to start the sensor using the phone though so won’t help you if you can’t scan.

Is it possible it could be a dodgy sensor?

Hi,

I got some good news.. (with my experience of Android.)

You can swap phones mid sensor (Libre.)
I did this the other day. You do lose the backlogged stuff on the app but it should be stored on Libreview anyway.
I just scanned the sensor with the new phone & it picked up where it left off on the old device?

All the phones I use tend to be preloved reconditioned. Pretty painless swapping over by simply allowing the new phone to “clone” everything on the old one either by cable or WiFi.
XDrip I found does need some permission setting changes on the new device to function..

Thank you so much for all your advice. I took the iPhone back and got her a Samsung A17. The minute we downloaded the app it came up and asked if she wanted notifications when tapping the sensor. So it’s all sorted now! She is happy and relieved it works!
