I was introduced to Libre some time ago, but didn't want the uncertainty of using the sensor and swimming! Especially as I was self-funding. I now want to try again, but I wondered if anyone could give me advice on protecting the sensor while swimming? I only want to swim in a swimming pool for one hour twice a week.

I do a swim training session for an hour twice a week. 80 plus lengths hard swimming. I cover with a small squares of lint over the sensor and then cover with a 10cm x10cm square of Opsite Flexifix. Have just left the last lot on for over a week with no adverse problems. It is brilliant. Without it, the Libre would be a no go for me as the swimming is important.

I had a trial of the libre and it survived 8 swims of under half hour in 2 weeks, as I was trialling it I didn't go over 30 mins till the last swim which was just over 40 minutes. it shallow dived, swam all 4 strokes, tumble turned and only once did I have the 'check sensor in 10 minutes' error, and that was the pool shower not the swim.

I usually swim 1500m breaststroke in around 42 mins twice a week and swim with my 11 yr old a couple of times too, so sulked a bit shortening swims, but went more often instead as the pool/sports centre is just down the road.

Oh and I covered it with a square of Tegaderm.

When I trialled the Libre, Vetrap was recommended when swimming.
I didn’t try it myself but seemed like a good idea: cheap, reusable and comes in bright colours.
