hello, could anyone give me some advice with the libre sensor?

Im relatively new to the sensor. Tested with the sensor and blood sugar was a low level of 2.7, however both my other testers indicated my levels were 7.0 and 7.4, any advice? Does the sensor give off readings once its first applied? Ive only had this one on for a few hours or so.

Thanks :)

Unfortunately it seems to vary from person to person. Many find that the results are inaccurate for the first 24 or even 48 hours. (They apply the sensor and don't activate it for 1-2 days).

I personally had excellent results from the libre for 8 months but then became allergic to the glue and discovered that it started to consistently read very very low (ie readings similar to yours).

Hopefully you'll find that the readings become accurate in a day, (or so). I'd recommend checking against your blood sugar testing meter until the results start to agree. If they don't I'd recommend ringing Abbott, who'll probably send you a free sensor. It is a device that works very well for many people. It's worth persevering before you assume you're one of the few for whom it doesn't work.

Thanks for your reply!

I’m certainly going to stick with it, it’s just suprised me how low the reading is on the sensor compared to my actual reading on my other meters.

I will monitor it over the next 24 hours or so just to see if it comes into line! Did you apply a new sensor 48 hours before the other one expired? Lots of people seem to say that.

Thanks :)

I personally didn't, and before I became allergic it seemed to work well from the start. Though I'd certainly do that if I needed to wait a day before activation. Just be aware that sometimes you get a "bad" sensor that never reads well. Abbott's quality control is less than perfect but they are very good about replacing faulty sensors for free.
