I do not have diabetes
Hi
My son is type one diabetic and has recently started using the Freestyle Libre sensor. He is only 6 and has swimming lessons once a week which are only half hour. I realise the sensor is waterproof for up to half an hour in water, however after his swimming lesson the sensor started losing it's adhesive and started falling off a few days later so only managed one week out of the possible two, which is really disappointing. I don't want him to give up on his swimming lessons because of this but I can't afford to be paying £50 each week either (not available on the NHS yet in our area).
Can you please advise on any suitable waterproof protector's that you have used that have protected the sensor in the water?

Thanks in advance

Tegaderm. I always cover mine, it also protects against doorframes and carelessly donned bra's, although I don't expect your son often has trouble with the latter.
Have you telephoned Abbott about the lost sensor? They might send you a new one!

I see a lot of people use skin tac wipes. They stick to me like limpets and have no problems with them (so far)
Phone Abbotts up and tell them, what happened and they will replace the sensor
