Hi, I heard about freestyle libre, wondering if I can get this on NHS prescription. It is true that the meter you have to buy it once but the test/ pads you need monthly supply and are not really cheap.

I been type 2 diabetes for 22 years, 15 years on insulin and 3-4 times glucose level checked daily...It is hard to stay in control of your sugar level...this means to be able to have a balanced life: no stress, diet, exercises, happiness...but not possible in real life...very important to have everything in moderation...

No not available on prescription. Cost about £100/month for the sensors. You can now use an Android phone with NFC as a reader or buy a hanheld reader for £57. Expensive over a year but I think to use 1 sensor for two weeks for £50 is very cheap for what you might find out.

I'm using this device since March 2015 and some times is not accurate in comparison with blood test. The biggest difference between it was approx 50mg/dl. I have asked the producer about this difference but till now no answers. Is cosy this Abbott Libre but is not accurate all the time. I believe, the accuracy is related with the health of the battery patch.
Now I'm using two devices for testing my sugar blood most of the time.
So, i forget about pricking my fingers but .....
