Libre2 Initial Accuracy

I've just fitted the Libre2 that I got as part of their free trial and while the first time I checked (1 hour after fitting) the results of 7.2 was around what I was expecting (my early morning finger prick test having been at 7.5) the readings since then have been dropping progressively e,g, (at roughly 1 hour intervals) 6.2, 5.9, 5.4, 4.7, 4.3 then 3.4 - none of them really likely (and a finger prick test done at the same time as the 3.4 one was a 7.0).

So the question is - is the sensor likely to be dodgy (or maybe I've made a mess of fitting it) or are odd initial readings typically a factor when starting to use one of these?

Thanks
Steve

Did you allow the sensor to "bed in"?
It is common to apply the sensor 24 to 48 hours before activating as the readings on the first day or two can be affected by our body reacting to the alien object inserted in our arm.
I find it acts as a random number generator if I activate a sensor as soon as I apply it.
Other people find it is fine straight away.

I just followed the instructions from the app which said the sensor would be available for readings after an hour. I'll maybe ignore it for the rest of today and see how the readings are in the morning.

Yep, Abbott does not share its limitations.
Another is Compression Lows - CGMs (including Libre) report false lows if you apply pressure to them such as lying on your arm when asleep.

I'm another who gets silly readings for the first day or 2, so I always wait at least 24 hours before activating it.
I only wear one about 3 or 4 times a year. I think my body forgets all about it in between.

After reporting low levels (between 3 and 4) right through the night it's started to gradually climb from about 5am and is now reporting around the 7.5 to 8 range - which is inline with the 7.9 reading I got from a finger jab test earlier this morning. So hopefully that might mean it's working better now - I'll see how it goes for the rest of the day!
