Hi I have just been told by a life insurance company that I have been declined due to disclosing that I have type 2 diabetis treated with insulin.
Do companies have a right to do this?
Would be greatful if someone could let me know

Thanks

Yes. They do. An insurer can decline any risk they wish to, and are not obliged to tell you why.

It may be worth trying another provider. They don't all underwrite to exactly the same criteria, but it would depend on many factors (age, general health, any complications, stage of your condition and how long you wanted the cover for, as examples) whether another company would be amenable to the risk.
