Lifesacn are posting me one of these as I walk lots and so often have probs deciding on how many units of insulin is right for excercise. The dillema is if I have little my BGs will soar in the 90-120 minutes between eating and starting out but if I have enough to stop the after meal spike then am likely to go hypo while out so saw this meter which has excercise button and hope it helps me to do this better when the meter does the readout.
I also want to know how difficult it is to navigate as am not very tec so would be interested in other folks experience :?:

I had the lifescan ultra smart and I still miss it now, only changed meter because I went on an insulin pump...

It's pretty easy to navigate no problems at all..

You can download the software from their website, and get a data cable for it (hopefully they've aleady sent this to you with the meter)

For mdi purposes the software is brillient indeed, I found it so useful and easy to use, far better than the other manufacturers, again only problem it doesn't deal very well with insulin pumps which is a real shame.. If they could fix this for both the meter and the software I be straight back to the ultra smart no problems...

I have had the UltraSmart for some time now and am very pleased with it. It does pretty much everything I want. It was easy to set iup and personalise and very easy to use.

The software is a doddle to use and can be downloaded free from the UK site. A quick phone call to the Customer Support line also got me the cable and a free UltraEasy which I tend to keep in the car.
Has the advantage of using the same strips........ :)
